After five months of running, telecom firm; MTN Uganda, has finally decided to rest its mid-week data bundle promo; Gaga Wednesday. Launched on Wednesday 08th, November 2017, begun with 1GB data for 3000 UGX but later went on making it more affordable for its customers reaching giving them more data at a cheaper prices. On valentine’s day, they offered its customers 4GB data for 2500 UGX.
However, one of the main aims for launching the promo was to create more awareness for the MyMTN App that improves customer experience allowing them to access MTN services without using USSD codes.
Having now over a million downloads and thousands of reviews on playstore, the app saw over 72,000 downloads in less than a week after its revamp early this year. The 21MB application is content rated at 4+ and 3+ on iTunes and Google Playstore respectively.
The promo ends effective today. And the running promo is 4GB for 4000 UGX valid for 24 hours from the time of purchase. It being the last day, MTN might decided to reduce on the price. There’s no comment on this but we assume it might happen.
MTN Uganda is trying its best to see that more Ugandans are connected to internet. By this, they have made their internet plans more affordable. In February, they reduced their price data rates and increased the data bundles. And according to Wim Vanhelleputte, the company’s CEO, the reduction was expected to drive further internet connectivity to facilitate business growth and enable communication.
In the same month they as well introduced Pulse bundles that helps its customers balance their data between socializing and browsing the web. The pulse data bundles come in three packages; MTN Pulse, MTN Pulse plus, and MTN Weekend bundle. Unlike the Pulse and Pulse+, the weekend bundle allows one to share weekend plans, and events.
Just a brief of what the pulse bundle could mean. In the MTN Pulse package, there’s a 50MB + 200MB SWIFT option. So this mean that if one bought that, they get 50MB for web browsing and 200MB for social networking (SWIFT). Say the 50MB was used, does this mean the SWIFT gets done too. The answer to that is NO! One of the two can get done before the other and won’t affect the remaining data.[related-posts]
