MTN Uganda to Host ‘Master Class’ Business Expo for Female Entrepreneurs

MTN Uganda is set to host a master class business expo for business practitioners in Kampala, a day that will be characterized by education and networking that seeks to further empower women in the country.

The expo, according to MTN Business officials is part of activities to commemorate this 5th edition of celebrating Women and specifically those engaged in Business.

It is slated to take place on Friday March 3rd at Protea Hotel in Kampala, from 8am to 5pm and will be facilitated by experts (by topic) to registered participants.

“From previous editions, we noted an opportunity to empower women entrepreneurs with knowledge that is critical to running a successful business outfit,” noted Martin Sebuliba, an official from MTN Uganda.

The expo is also a part of the recently launched 2017 edition of the MTN Women in Business Awards that seek to celebrate the achievements of Ugandan women entrepreneurs who against all odds continue to excel in the predominantly male dominated field of business.

The awards are being run under the theme “Survival of the fittest; Partnering for success” with major focus on what it takes for a woman to succeed.

The master class expo will seek further empower women in the areas of Effective Business Planning and Execution, Marketing for SME, Financing your business, Business Solutions, Accounting for SME (taxation, books of account, P&L,), Corporate Governance and Business Law, Knowledge Ecosystem, Networking and partnering.

A number of corporate partners including Summit Consulting, Ligomarc Advocates, Enterprise Uganda, UAP Insurance, PWC and Stanbic Bank have also already confirmed participation to facilitate the different sessions on the day.
