ICT Association of Uganda (ICTAU) in an extraordinary general meeting held on January 30th, 2021 elected its new board of directors, with Ms. Elizabeth Ntege elected as the new Chairperson, as she will take over the role after Mr. Albert Mucunguzi who has held the position for two terms. Ntege will by assisted by Rajeev Agarwal, the new vice chairperson of the Association.
The new board’s term will run for the next 3 years and have committed to strengthening membership by creating value and relevance, focusing on advocacy with relevant stakeholders, building capacity and re-establishing the associations activities and events.
Ntege will lead the Association’s mission to create an effective network of practitioners, researchers, policymakers, government, and industry to facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration in developing Uganda’s ICT sector.
The new board of directors includes;
- Mrs. Elizabeth Ntege as the Chairperson.
- Mr. Rajeev Agarwal Rajeev as the Vice-Chairperson.
- Mr. James Byaruhanga as a Non- executive Director.
- Mr. Ken Stober as a Non- executive Director.
- Mr. Boaz Shani as Non- executive Director.
- Ms. Joan Katambi as a Non- executive Director.
- Mr. Patrick Kadama as a Non- executive Director.
ICTAU is a multi-stakeholder initiative formed by private sector-based Ugandans that seeks to provide professional guidance to individuals and organizations in the private sector, as well as offering advisory services to government on policy-based issues.
Elizabeth Ntege brief profile
Ntege is the Co-founder and CEO of NFT Consult Group, a business process outsourcing and consultancy firm which carries its operations in six East African countries. She is also the Co-founder of NFT Mawazo an ITES Innovation hub and prior to NFT, Ntege worked as an engineer for over ten (10) years for entities like Uganda Telecom, British Telecom, BT Concert and D-link Europe.
She currently serves as a Non-executive director on the board of Stanbic bank, as a Trustee on the board of Chance for childhood in the UK and until recently served as the Chairperson on the board of Data Care Uganda limited.
She is an active member of the Business and Professional Women Uganda, The Boardroom Africa as well as the League of East African Directors. She is also a member of the Alliance for Trade in Information Technology and Services association.
She joined Impact2Invest an initiative that supports the development and sustainability of a growing community of 100 women business entrepreneurs and leaders in Africa through innovative business coaching, mentoring, networking and knowledge as a mentor in business transformation and HR.
