As safeboda customers were expecting the usual ‘monthly madness’ offer where they are given 100% bonus on what they deposit on their safeboda credit account, the Bukoto-based moto-taxi ride hailing firm had something new planned. In a tweet thread that was surfacing ending of May, the company said the new offer would be much better than the monthly madness offer and will affect both credit and cash customers.
For those that have been using safeboda, you come to notice that customers who pay using credit get more benefits/offers than those that pay in cash. They are always given a 20% discount off each ride they take while cash customers pay the full amount. So this might not seem fair. However, safeboda has always encouraged and asked its customers to ride cashless and avoid issues/problems of looking for change. (HOW TO RIDE CASHLESS)
In the new offer from the company, they have given a 50% discount for every ride their customers take. This will affect both customers; credit or cash. But Safeboda didn’t mention whether this would be a forever offer or its limited to a given period of time. However, their did mention that the new offer will be replacing the monthly madness. Which mean – if this is the case, then it will be done every first of each month, but if it’s not the sake, then well and good.
On the other hand, in one of the tweets they came out to mention that the offer would not effect its riders as they will receive their full pay.
But still those that are paying using credit are still on the advantage side, they still have the 20% discount on the already reduced price making it even better for them.
Everyone deserves a safer ride in Kampala!

We guess the change comes to the rising competition from TaxifyBoda and UberBoda who launched early this year in February, and March respectively. Safeboda still tops the moto-taxi hailing firms although the company isn’t supposed to get more comfortable since its competitors are picking up gradually.
