After a successful inaugural event that attracted over 700 gaming enthusiasts per day from the region, the East African Gaming Convention (EAGC) returns for the second year from 31st March to 1st April, at the TRM Mall in Nairobi.
The 2017 convention set out with an aim of introducing a wide variety of educational and entertainment video games, online games, mobile games as well as education and information software, game related hardware, and next-generation platforms.
The 2018 edition under the theme “Coding for Non-tech” is expected to provide a wider platform for meeting the entire value chain of the gaming industry in East Africa, providing the opportunity to network with companies developing new technologies and services and explore latest updates occurring across the gaming sector.
Companies and Game Developers are equally invited to showcase their games and use this platform to speak directly to an expected audience of more than 1000 gaming enthusiasts who are powering the fastest growing market.
The Tournament
The convention is set to feature gaming tournaments where the participants will go head-to-head to compete for prizes and bragging rights. In addition to FIFA and Mortal Kombat XL, the second edition will have two more tournament games – Tekken 7 and Call Of Duty.
Registration to participate in the four tournament games is open with overall winner in each expected to walk away with KSH. 50,000 (approximately USD. 500), Runner’s up getting KSH. 25,000 (approximately USD. 250) and Second Runner’s up pocketing KSH. 15,000 (approximately USD. 150).
There shall be a networking cocktail party on 29th March 2018 starting from 4pm-7pm at TRM Mall which will be hosted by event networking sponsor DELL.
