WhatsApp Business App Launches in Uganda – Available For Download
Just a few weeks after its official launch, WhatsApp standalone business app; WhatsApp Business App has debuted in Uganda. The standalone app is aimed at making it easier to for small companies (SMEs) to connect with their customers.
Facebook-owned messaging platform announced the plans to kick off its WhatsApp for Business initiative last year and launched a pilot by partnering with a few companies. The official app then finally arrived first in a handful of markets, including Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the UK, and the US, on Friday.
Unlike the original app, the app allows businesses to create their own profiles with information such as business description, email, physical address, and website. In addition, it also provides smart messaging tools to let businesses use quick replies, send greetings messages to new customers and set away messages when the companies are busy.
Further, there are metrics such as the number of messages read and WhatsApp Web support to let companies send and receive messages directly through a desktop.
Thus, the WhatsApp Business App is now available for download via Google Play in Uganda. Furthermore, its compatible with devices running Android 4.0.3 and above. A version with similar features is also expected to be available for iOS devices in the coming future.

WhatsApp Business App is different from the regular WhatsApp. The logo of the app has been changed to B symbol inside the green conversation bubble. Most of all, the title bar writes WhatsApp Business.[related-posts]
