itel Uganda has today unveiled another set of smartphones after the itel A58 and A58 Pro that were launched in February. The phones in question are the itel P17 and P17 Pro —and were unveiled in partnership with MTN Uganda. The phones are available at itel stores and authorized mobile phone dealers at price between UGX230,000 to UGX235,000 (depends on the store you’re buying from).
While launching the phones at MTN Uganda’s HQ in Kampala, Mr. Somdev Sen, the telco’s CMO said “smartphones are brilliant and they need to be very affordable.” Adding that “If you don’t have a smartphone right now and you’re thinking about buying one, use this opportunity and get the itel P17 and enjoy the MTN data that comes with it.”
In this strategic partnership, itel provides affordable smartphones and MTN avails internet with a common goal of bringing more Ugandans online. MTN will provide free 3GB monthly data for the itel P17 and P17 Pro for three months. In addition to the 3GB, customers will be given a 100% data bonus on every data bundle purchased for the first 3 months on the MTN network.
Ms. Thurraya Nakayima, itel Uganda’s Executive Trainer while addressing the press said that their partnership with MTN Uganda has enhanced the value of itel’s smartphones by making access to the internet more affordable and exciting.
Adding to her remarks, Somdev the telco’s partnership with itel is yielding great results. “We recently launched the itel A58 which is doing well on the market and today. We are unveiling two more series of the itel P17. With such a diversity of itel smartphones on the market, we believe there is something for everyone.” Adds “And what is even better is that all these itel devices come with attractive MTN data offers that enable customers to do more with their itel smartphones.”
The itel P17 and P17 Pro are the latest addition to the itel range of smartphones. Both smartphones come with 32GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, 5.5-Inch Screen, 4000mAh battery, Quad-processor, 5MP (rear) + 2MP (front) cameras, Android 11 GO, among other specifications and features.
