Infinix HOT 12 Will Allow Users to Increase Their RAM With Unused Internal Storage

Infinix Mobile is rumored to launch its new smartphones in the HOT series early next month. The series in mention is the HOT 12 series which will come in 3 variants; the HOT 12, HOT 12 PLAY, and HOT12i. Out of the trio, the HOT 12i was the first to be launched — but only in Nigeria —however, it is expected to go global after the launch of the HOT 12 and HOT 12 Play before the end of April 2022.

The Hot 12i —is seemingly the lowest standing of the trio and is an entry-level affair through and through.

Infinix first launched its HOT series back in 2015 and has since been able to keep the series alive and available for its customers globally right from the HOT 4 to now the new set, the HOT 12.

We don’t know much about the phones (except the HOT 12i) yet, but from what the brand managed to share with us, the phones will come with 4GB RAM + 128GB internal storage on the HOT 12 and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage for the HOT 12 Play. Hence, you will be able to store all your apps and media including; songs, videos, games, and more on the phone without worrying about space constraints.

Infinix HOT12 series is said to come with a virtual RAM expansion technology to enable users to increase the RAM capacity of their smartphones for optimal efficiency and processing power.  Memory Fusion Technology is designed to make use of unused internal storage and channel them for RAM operations. With Memory Fusion, a HOT 12 user with 4GB RAM can enlarge onboard RAM by up to 7GB. This also enhances a device’s multi-tasking capacity, allowing seamless switching between apps that are running concurrently in the background, and stabilizes the phone’s systems for more sustainable performance and longer battery life.

The phones on the other hand are likely to be equipped with an Octa-core (4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Helio chipset so that users can enjoy a seamless performance with no lags while multitasking and playing intense graphics games.

From the perspective of display and resolution, well, it has to be better compared to its predecessor — thus, we expect between 6.6-Inch to 6.8-Inch display with a resolution of 1080p. The front display might have a water-drop notch (as seen from some of the leaks) housing the front-facing camera.

Speaking of cameras, according to some critics, and leaks, we do know the main shooter is 13MP with AF, and we can only assume the other two are 2MP for portrait and macro shots. The selfie camera is behind a waterdrop notch and has an 8MP sensor.

The phones with no doubt have Android 11 OS coupled with the company’s XOS 7.6 interface.

Then comes the battery, the HOT Series is prominent for its long-lasting battery — thus the phones might or will have a battery capacity of 5,000mAh (on the HOT 12i) and 6,000mAh (on the HOT 12 and HOT 12 Play). The brand tipped us that when fully charged, the phones can go up to 3 days on a single charge on minimal usage which is impressive given the fact that most people spend an average of 4.8 hours a day using their smartphones to run their day-to-day business, socialize as well as keep themselves entertained.

When it comes to price, we predict the starting RRP will be UGX550,000 for the base phone and RRP of UGX1.2M for the biggest model.
