Uganda will be celebrating its Liberation Day on Friday 26th, January 2018. And we can expect a lot from D-day.

ISPs are always trying their best to give their customers/subscribes best internet rates at affordable prices. They’ve introduced package such as; super combos, night packs, WTF, Midnight Bundles, Happy Hours/Nights to satisfy their customers in one or the other.

The United Nations once declared internet being a human right, that all people are free to access internet. However, the issue of pricing always affect us, your pay less and you get less, you pay more and you get more. This has affected us Ugandans a lot.

The Free Internet – MyUG

It was until then that the Ugandan Government through the NITA Uganda decided to avail all citizens living within the borders of Kampala with free Wi-Fi. It was reported last year that the number of Ugandans using the free Wi-Fi network grew to more than 10,000 users. The statistics were revealed by Dr. James Saaka, the Executive Director of NITA Uganda.

Other than that, Telecom firm; MTN Uganda, on Wednesday revised its mobile data a head of “Liberation Day.”

The changes have been made specifically on the daily bundles. 25MBs have been increased to 40MB priced at 500 UGX,  60MBs to 100MBs priced at 1000 UGX, and finally 125MB to 300MBs priced at 2000 UGX.

“The long weekend is coming and we are giving you more data for the same price,” writes in a tweet.
