Galaxy S4 retail price for Uganda announced

samsung-galaxy-s4-xlSamsung’s Uganda distributor, Transtel announced last week that the latest of Samsung’s popular Galaxy S series, Galaxy SIV will be selling in Uganda in the coming weeks, and has set the retail price at UGX 1,999,000 (UPDATE: The retail price will be UGX 2,300,000 but Transtel is offering the smartphone at 1,999,000 to the first 50 customers who will pre-book).

The Galaxy S4, which was launched for the African market in South Africa at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg last Thursday evening, as part of Samsung’s “Samsung Galaxy S4 World Tour”, is being “offloaded” to various Africa countries, including Uganda.

Samsung Electronics South Africa director of mobile communications, Craige Fleische, who described the release of the device as an innovation benchmark, said other features include the ‘Air View’ that allows users to hover with their fingers to preview the content of an email, S Planner, image gallery or video without having to open it.

“All the innovative features of Galaxy S4 were developed based on the insights and needs we found from our consumers all around the world. Following the successful Galaxy S series, this phone is yet another great proof point of people-inspired innovation. At Samsung, we’ll never stop pursuing innovation conceived by people so we can inspire them in return,” he said.
