Google Pixel Successors Likely to be Codenamed Walleye and Muskie

According to new reports surfacing online, search-engine giants; Google Inc. has confirmed the arrival of the next-generation/the successor of the Pixel smartphones later this year, with fresh leaks that have stated that the successors might possibly be codenamed ‘Muskie and Walleye’ internally among employees.

Reporting by Android Police, the base variant will be called Walleye, while Muskie is the name of the larger variant of the two. The report also states that the Walleye smartphone was spotted on Android Open Source Project gerrit as well, confirming that it will run on Android.

The next-generation of these Pixel smartphones, according to reports by NDTV news, are expected to launch in October this year, presuming that the time frame for last year is maintained. Some reports have claimed that the Pixel 2 smartphones will be more expensive than original Pixel smartphones.

Google’s newly appointed hardware lead Rick Osterloh also claimed that the upcoming devices will be positioned in the premium segment, NDTV news further reported.[related-posts]

Spec-wise according to rumors, the Pixel 2 is tipped to come with an improved camera and processor, water resistant, as well as a Snapdragon 835 chipset compared to the Snapdragon 821 the predecessor has, 4GB RAM, 5 and 5.7-Inch screens the Pixel XL being 0.2-Inches larger than its predecessor, Quick Charge 4.0, and will finally pack an Android 8.0 operating system.

Further online reports claim, that Google promises to bring a more improved Pixel smartphone.
