Last week Infinix Uganda launched a new set of premium smartphones that come in two versions, i.e. the Infinix Note 10 and Infinix Note 10 Pro, phones for its market. The new Infinix NOTE 10 smartphones are successors to Infinix Note 8 series that were launched in October 2020.

The new phones come with upgrades including; display resolution, operating system, chipset, and camera. We noticed that minor changes have been done to the new NOTE series and downgrades, however, the phone still makes it a worthy handset.

Driven by the commitment to bring true value to its consumers, Infinix claims that the Note 10 series targets professionals, entertainment lovers, and everyday users who will enjoy using the handset through asymmetry of aesthetics and performance.

“We know today’s smartphone enthusiasts want a device that balances style with the latest innovative technology for a truly immersive experience. The Note 10 series perfectly balances functionality; aesthetics, style, innovation, texture, and color functionality, to create the ideal, all-around device for professionals, entertainment lovers, and everyday users alike,” Manfred Hong, Senior Product Director at Infinix Mobility said at the launch of the phones.

The phone comes in the same-way packaging as its predecessor. On unboxing (ensure that the seal isn’t broken to avoid counterfeit), you’re greeted with the phone and in the middle compartment, you have the warrant card, sim injection pin, x-club dollar bill, screen protector, and a transparent phone case. Underneath, are the accessories for the phone; an 18-watt fast charger, USB Type-C cable, and a pair of standard 3.5mm earphones.

Looking at what the Infinix NOTE 10 delivers, the dual SIM phone comes with an IPS LCD type display with a screen size of 6.95-inches and a screen resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels.

Under the hood, it ships with a 12nm MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, an Octa-core processor, and a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU (delivers some good graphics). The phone runs on Android 11 couples with Infinix’s XOS v7.6 and is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 5,000mAh battery.

The phone supports fast charging with its 18W charging brick and USB Type-C cable that can juice up your phone fast.

In terms of storage, the Infinix NOTE 10 comes in 64GB + 4GB RAM, 128GB + 4GB RAM, and 128GB + 6GB RAM, so a consumer can choose their preferable variants. The internal storage is expandable with a microSD card of up to 256GB.

The company went with the late 2020 triple rear-camera design that has 48MP + 2MP + 2MP sensors supported with a LED flash and at the front is the centered 16MP camera setup in a punch-hole display.

Our first impressions, though they’re much;

  1. We are impressed with the upgrade in resolution so it supports full HD compared to the predecessor that supported 720p. We hope that we never see the company make phones with 720p.
  2. We are also impressed with the upgrade in the chipset with a MediaTek Helio G850 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and it’s a gaming midrange chipset that is basically the G80 but with a few tweaks.
  3. More storage options for consumers.
  4. The phone is affordable.

The Infinix Note 10 is available at Infinix outlets and authorized smartphone dealers countrywide priced at an RRP of UGX710,000 for the 4GB + 128GB, UGX780,000 for the 6GB + 128GB and UGX962,000 for the 8GB + 128GB.The phone comes in Emerald Green, Black, and Purple color options.
