On Friday, Double Q launched a new Sinotruk in the Ugandan market at a high-profile event held at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja, attended by over 100 guests, including SMEs, fleet operators, media, and industry partners.

The launch, themed “Move More, Earn More,” introduced the 4-tonne Sinotruk box body as the entry point into a complete commercial vehicle ecosystem ranging from 4 to 28 tonnes. This strategic positioning reinforces Double Q’s commitment to supporting businesses at every stage of growth.

“Business success is driven by movement, and the more efficient that movement, the greater the returns. That is why we are positioning the 4T not just as an entry-level truck, but as our flagship for opportunity. It is the foundation upon which businesses can build, scale, and succeed. It is where the journey begins,” said Jack Wang, Sinotruck’s Sales Director, on behalf of the MD of Double Q, Lin Yu.

The newly launched 4-tonne Sinotruk is purpose-built for urban & light commercial operations, and last-mile distribution with a clear objective: maximizing earnings. Engineered to deliver value where it matters most, it combines strong payload capacity—allowing operators to carry more per trip—with impressive fuel efficiency, averaging approximately 4.5 to 5.5 kilometers per liter, reducing daily operating costs. Its durability ensures reliable performance with minimal downtime. At the same time, simplified maintenance keeps long-term ownership affordable and stress-free, making it a practical and cost-effective choice for businesses focused on operational efficiency.

Speaking at the launch, Sinotruk’s Product Manager, Kobe Xiao, said, “As the flagship of our lineup, the 4-tonner represents the starting point of a complete growth journey. And as your operations expand, you can seamlessly transition into our 10T, 15T, and 28T trucks, offering a complete earning range designed to grow with you.”

The Sinotruck is priced at US$26,000 (approx. UGX96.5 million). In addition, it comes with a 2-year warranty, 2 free services, 1 free breakdown service, free site checking, and training.

Understanding that access to financing remains a key challenge for many businesses, Double Q has introduced flexible acquisition options. Double Q’s Head of Marketing, Richard Musani, said these include in-house financing solutions (IHF by Double Q) designed to accommodate varying customer budgets, as well as partnerships with commercial banks such as NCBA, DFCU, and Stanbic, through a finance leasing framework. This dual approach ensures that more businesses can acquire and use the Sinotruck without paying the full cost upfront, while spreading payments over time.

The Resident City Commissioner (RCC) for Jinja City, who was also the Chief Guest at the launch, described Sinotruk as a reliable partner that has consistently contributed to the country’s transport ecosystem. He further applauded Sinotruk for its transformative impact over the past 19 years, noting that the brand has played a significant role in shaping and modernizing Uganda’s transport landscape.

His remarks reinforced confidence in the sector’s future, underscoring the importance of strong partnerships and reliable solutions in driving economic progress and enabling businesses to thrive.

In addition to the 4T model, the broader Sinotruk lineup offers a versatile range of solutions tailored to different logistics needs. This includes 10T trucks ideal for regional distribution, 15T trucks designed for bulk transport and larger contracts, and 28T trucks built for heavy-duty industrial haulage. Together, this comprehensive range provides a clear and scalable growth pathway for SMEs and fleet operators, enabling them to expand their logistics capabilities in line with evolving business demands.

Double Q is not just providing trucks; it is building long-term partnerships that empower businesses to grow, scale, and maximize profitability. With this launch, Double Q and Sinotruk reaffirm their commitment to advancing Uganda’s logistics and transport sector through reliable, efficient, and growth-driven commercial vehicle solutions.
