The Uganda Digital Society (UDS) has entered into a strategic partnership with the National ICT Innovation Hub (NIIH), under the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, to contribute towards ongoing efforts transforming Uganda’s innovation landscape and the country’s digital transformation journey. The collaboration will strengthen the country’s position as a regional hub for ICT-driven innovation and entrepreneurship.
“By joining hands with the National ICT Innovation Hub, we are adding to the incredible work already happening there, creating an ecosystem where ideas can grow into businesses, where skills can translate into jobs, and where innovation can power national development,” John Ssenkeezi, President of UDS, said, during the signing of the agreement.
Flavia Opio, Team Lead at the hub, noted that the partnership is an illustration of the hub’s continued dedication to unlock opportunities for founders to dream bigger, grow stronger, and compete globally.
Uganda’s youthful population continues to shape the nation’s digital future, demonstrating resilience and creativity in areas such as fintech, e-commerce, health tech, and agritech infused with artificial intelligence.
To complement ongoing efforts, the UDS–NIIH partnership brings value added by:
- Expanding skilling and mentorship programmes to deepen technical expertise and entrepreneurial leadership.
- Strengthening incubation, acceleration, and workspace opportunities at the Hub.
- Leveraging national and international networks to create new pathways for Ugandan startups to scale regionally and globally.
- Enhancing professionalism and ethical standards in the digital sector to build greater trust and credibility.
