MTN Uganda today extended its best wishes to the Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, and all the people of Buganda as the Kingdom celebrates its 28th coronation anniversary of their reigning King. Kabaka Mutebi II ascended to the throne on July 31st, 1993. Kabaka Mutebi is the 36th King of Buganda Kingdom, the largest Kingdom in Uganda.
The coronation anniversary happened in Buddu County, Lwengo District at the Kabaka’s palace in Nkoni village while observing the Covid-19 SOPs, with few people in attendance.
MTN had a colorful celebration at its head offices and service centers to offer tribute to Kabaka Mutebi II on his coronation anniversaries. The telco’s Chief Executive officer, Mr. Wim Vanhelleputte, spearheaded the staff and took time to congratulate His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II upon his 28th coronation.
“On behalf of MTN, I would like to congratulate the Kabaka of Buganda, His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II upon his 28th Coronation anniversary. I and everyone at MTN extend our best wishes to you and all the people of Buganda,” Vanhelleputte said in his message while congratulating the Kabaka as he concluded by wishing him a long and peaceful reign.
“Ayi Mukama Kuuma Kabaka Waffe, Wangaala ayi Ssabasajja (which translates to May God Protect our King. Long live our king,” Vanhelleputte concluded.
Vanhelleputte further noted that MTN reveres kingdoms because they are a strong community establishment that fosters shared beliefs and unity of purpose, a fact that proliferates MTN’s #GoodTogether concept that recognizes how much can be achieved through such relations among different entities.
Also, a selection of MTN staff including, Mr. Joseph Bogera; General Manager Sales & Distribution, Ms. Margaret Nantongo; Quality Assurance Supervisor, Ms. Aisha Nakiryowa; Quality Assessor, Ms. Sumayah Naluyima; Administrator, and Omulangira Lukanga Moses; MTN Uganda Call Center Team Leader, also paid tribute to the King on behalf of the company.
MTN Uganda wished the Kingdom of Buganda happy deliberations upon the 28th coronation anniversary of His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II and remains committed to working with the Kingdom and the people of Buganda for more years to come.
