With affordable smartphones, consumers are able to purchase them.

According to a Uganda Communications Commission report, the fourth quarter of 2020 saw a total of 27 million registered smartphones in Uganda. The increasing smartphone adoption rate in Uganda can be attributed to a shift of Ugandans moving online as well as the introduction of affordable high tech smartphone brands such as Infinix on the market. This is also reflected in the sales of mobile phones on Jumia, with the phones category accounting for 63% of the tech products sold on Jumia in 2019.
