Telecommunication firm; MTN Uganda on Tuesday morning announced it will reward its customers who have embraced paying for their goods and services using their cashless mobile payment platform, MTN MoMoPay; that helps combat the pain experienced by customers when making transactions.
Customers pay for goods or services directly from their mobile money accounts at no cost. Retailers and businesses receive the payments for the goods and services instantly.
Through this promotion, up-to 20 customers will be selected from a draw to participate in a trolley dash where they shop merchandise of up-to UGX1 million in 60 seconds. Standing a chance to enter the draw, customers are required to make at least 2 MoMoPay transactions each week.
“Our customers have appreciated the convenience of having to pay for all their goods and services using MoMo Pay. Thus we felt the need to thank them by giving back to them and that’s why we launched this promotion,” Mr. Ali Monzer; General Manager Mobile Financial Services at MTN Uganda said in a statement.
The Trolley Dash is slated for Jan. 18th at Fraine Supermarket, Cynibel in Bunga on Jan. 25th, Shoprite Clock Tower on Feb. 1st, and Feb. 8th at Kenjoy supermarket. 5 winners will be selected every week to participate in the draw.
How to use MoMoPay
When the customer is done purchasing their products or ready to pay for their service, s/he will ask the merchant for their merchant number.
You then dial *165*3#, press the ok/yes key. From the dialog box that pops up you need to insert in the merchants 6-digit number.
After inserting the number, you will then be asked to inset in the price that you owe, which you will have to confirm with MTN mobile money number. Then the completion is done.
