The TECNO Spark 3 was launched on Monday this week along with its bigger version, the TECNO Spark 3 Pro. The launch was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, Uganda which followed the launches in Nigeria and Kenya.
The two phablets now are successor of the Spark 2 series that launched in 2018. The TECNO Spark series smartphones are one of the most selling handsets from the company mostly because they target mostly millennials.
TECNO has tries to keep up with the latest smartphone trends, as it packs some to the new variants. For instance, a bigger screen, bezeless, long-lasting batteries, camera performance among others.
After the launch of the variants which are available in Midnight Black, Champagne Gold, Bordeaux Red and Aqua Blue color options, PC Tech Magazine received a Midnight Black option for a two-weeks review. Well-packed in an orange colored rectangular boxing. The company advises consumers not to accept their packages with a broken seal.
What’s Inside The Box
Fully sealed in an orange colored boxing, on opening the 6.2-Inched TECNO Spark 3 sits on top. The handset should be in the color option you choose from the seller. The TECNO Spark 3 as we mentioned before is available in four color options, including; Midnight Black, Champagne Gold, Bordeaux Red and Aqua Blue.
Underneath, the large display smartphone are its accessories. This includes, a charging brick, a microUSB data & charging cable, 3.5mm earphones, screen protector, smartphone guard, and manuals & card warranty.
Quick Review & Quick Look-out
Consumers should brace themselves with a large notched phone. In today’s trend smartphone manufacturers are hitting up their handsets with a larger display mostly starting from 6-Inches. This why TECNO mobile does what to keep up with the trend.
However much the Spark 3 has a large display, it does fit in consumer’s grip. It feels comfortable, nice, sleek and sturdy at touch. The bezels reduced to give more room for increasing the display — thus the 6.2-Inch. Previously, we saw the Spark 2 with 6-Inch display.
First impressions
1. Display:
The big display counts as our first impression. The Spark 2 had a 6-Inch, which Tecno had to expand to 6.2-Inch reducing down on the bezels. This gives an advantage to more content viewership and screen display sharing.
2. Build and Feel:
The build is beautiful. Tecno pulls it off with poly-carbonate plastic that can be mistaken for glass, and was finalized with a granite-like finish. In terms of feel in the hand, the Spark 3 feels quite good in the hand and it’s light phone.
3. HiOS v5.0:
We applaud Tecno on polishing the HiOS on topped UI for the Android 9.0 Pie mobile OS.
4. AI Technology Integration:
With the AI tech integrated in the Spark 3, it happens to fully opmtize the phone’s performance, brights up you videos and photos, best for detection among others.
The Tecno Spark 3 is priced at UGX429,000 and is available in all Tecno stores country wide.
