Earlier this year, Facebook-owned messaging platform; WhatsApp was reported working on a group calling feature that would supports up to 5 people. The user/person making the call, can add four more members in call from the top right corner summing it up to a total of 5 users/persons. While the feature had been in a the beta mode for a while, the social messaging company decided to roll out the stable version globally to Android and iOS app users.

So if you are wondering on how to make group audio and video calls on WhatsApp, here’s a brief guide you can probably look at. But first, ensure to see that you have the latest WhatsApp from your respective app store (Google Play store or App Store). If not, update the WhatsApp app to receive this update.

To make group video call, you will need to place a one-on-one call and then have the option to add the participants.

Video/Voice Group Call(s):

Once you’re in your WhatsApp app >> Head to the Calls tab and hit the Dial button from the bottom right corner.

From your displayed contacts, select your first participant and tap on the video/voice option to start a one-on-one call.

Then to add other participants, click on the Add Participant option that appears on the top right corner of the call >> select the contact(s) – one at a time that you need/love to add to the call.
