Uganda Telecom will host over 500 senior-level professionals from over 180 organisations across Africa for the Capacity Africa conference starting with a Pre-event cocktail today Monday 26th September 2016 at the Infinity pool.  The two day conference starting Tuesday 27th September 2016 will be held at Speke Resort-Munyonyo. This conference will bring together the entire African telecom wholesale industry.

“As the only Full spectrum Telecom provider and a market leader in the Enterprise and Wholesale telecom market in Uganda, we are thrilled to be hosting this conference. Capacity Africa provides the ultimate platform for us to network with existing partners and also establish new business partnerships within the continent. The conference also marks the 1oth anniversary of Capacity Africa and this is the first time it is being held in Kampala” remarked Mr Mark Shoebridge, Uganda Telecom’s Managing Director.

According to the Capacity Africa website the choice to have it in Kampala will generate interest from new companies, creating the opportunity for new business partnerships, as well as bring a fresh focus to the conference. “With a flourishing local telecoms market and frequent international flight connections into Entebbe, Uganda will make a great new host country for Capacity Africa.”

Quoted in a testimonial on the Capacity Africa website, the Managing Director of Africa Analysis, Mr. Dobek Pater had this to say about the last conference; “Capacity Africa proves once again that this is the prime event in the wholesale telecommunications market in Africa. The conference is the single best meeting place of African and global operators, vendors and service providers.”

Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of ICT.  Other speakers who will grace the conference include; Mr. Godfrey Mutabazi, Managing Director, Uganda Communications Commission, Mr. Mark Shoebridge the MD of Uganda Telecom, Nic Rudnic of Liquid Telecom, Roger Sekaziga of Roke Telecom, Suzan Kitariko of Google Uganda and James Saaka of the Uganda National Information Technology Authority.
