Facebook to stop @facebook.com email redirects after May 1

If you have been  on Facebook since 2012, you may have used the @Facebook.com email address.

The social network allowed people to redirect messages sent to a @facebook.com email address to another inbox, meaning that instead of showing up in your Facebook notifications, these emails would arrive in your email inbox.

The Site has announced that after May 1, Facebook will no longer redirect @facebook.com emails.

Facebook sent out a message to those with redirects letting them know that they will nolonger be able to recieve emails.

“After May 1, 2016, you will no longer be able to receive email sent to [username@facebook.com]. Please update your email address for any services that currently send email to [username@facebook.com],”

To remove the Facebook email from your account for good, if you have one, navigate on the desktop to Settings > Email > Edit > uncheck the box next to “Use your Facebook email.” On iOS, tap More > Settings > Account Settings > General > Email > uncheck the box next to “Use your Facebook email.” On Android, tap the hamburger icon, scroll to Settings and follow the same path from there.
