Event: E-Learning Africa 2016

eLearning Africa ,the 11th International Conference on ICT for Development, Education is taking place on 24th – 26th May 2016 at the Royal Maxim Palace Kempinski Hotel, Cairo Egypt.

Under the theme “Making Vision Reality” eLearning Africa aims at bringing together decision-makers and practioners in various sectors such as education, business, ICT to discuss, share and take the action on topics surrounding access,openness,skills ,sustainability development ,best practice and more. In addition eLearning Africa 2016 provides a platform for leading international manufacturers, suppliers and service providers to exhibit and market their businesses.

The three –day event’s target audience is; university IT directors,  government ministers, technology service providers, education policymakers, ICT programme directors, school principals and directors, students, Human Resources Executives, publishers, Instruction Designers, Analysts and Content Providers.

Hosted by The Arab Republic OF Egypt together with the Information Technology And Development Agency (ITDA), eLearning Africa provides a platform for this audience to discuss and look for the the best ways of maximizing the benefits of technology on education and development throughout the continent.

The event follows the previous 10th E-Learning conference that was held in Addis Abba Ethiopia under the theme “Enriching tomorrow”. With over 1389 participants in attendance, it mainly explored the ways in which ICT can be used in the present to augment knowledge, expertise and abilities relevant for tomorrow.

Dr Obádélé Kambon, Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana one of the participants of the 2015 eLearning conference had this to say, “eLearning Africa? In three words, I would say: Informative, enriching, and black powerful!”

Top notch speakers who are experts in the ICT, education and business sectors have been lined up for this event such as Thierry Zomahoun; President and CEO of African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS), Dr Maggy Beukes; Director of the Centre for eLearning and Interactive Multimedia at the University of Namibia, Joel Bato; a teacher at Gayaza High School, Uganda, Yasser ElKady; Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology and many more.

A registration fee of 390 Euros (about 1.5 million UGX) will be charged to African nationals based in Africa and 690 Euros (about 2.6 million UGX) to other participants.
