Events: Developers Week Comes To Nairobi

The new tech series is to take place in Nairobi, Kenya from April 25 – May 1, 2016. It’s aimed to bring together various Tech industry giants, leading companies and international/local start-ups featuring their CTOs, developers and influencers.

This is to build and advance the quality of East African development using new technology and by doing so pushing for better quality tech products originating from East Africa. The event will create a platform for communication between local talent and worldwide resources not only that but recognize the geniuses, developers and influencers that contribute to the commercial success of some of the industry giants like Twitter, Launchkit, BRCK and M-KOPA Solar.

Some of the major activities going to be featured in the week even will include:

Twitter #Helloworld Tour in Kenya; developer teams will be brought to Kenya for cross cultural exchange in social media and culture aiming to show East African market influence on twitter and how the app can be pushed and enriched by the twitter platform. Some of the keynote speakers to be featured for this are Bear Douglas; Lead, Developer Advocacy, Twitter, Juliana Chahoud; Developer Advocate, Twitter and Bindiya Shah; Head of Partnerships, Twitter, Africa @Bindi.

Developer’s workshops are to be the heart of the whole event where topics like Web and Mobile Development, user thinking, culture, trends and diversity, will be highlighted by talks and panels presented by leading CTOs, Founders, VCs and Developers.

Other activities will include the “Angelhank Nairobi Hackathon” where hackers are to compete for cash prizes and a chance to travel to Silicon Valley for the “AngelHack HACKcelerator Program,” “Investment Panels” on the lookout for African developers led by DraperDarkFlow, Managing Partner Toro Orero, “Agile and Scum Training” where local talent will get to meet various hiring managers and “Conference Expos” among others will grace the event.
