Egypt to build Smart Village in Uganda

Egypt is the process of planing to build a smart village in Uganda.

The smart village is aimed at attracting a number of investments, from IT to hospitality.

Hussein Fahmy, the sales manager Smart Village, said that The smart village project in Egypt cost more than six billion Egyptian pound investments and they are in the process of starting a similar project in Uganda.

At the moment, they are identifying the land in Uganda after which they shall register the project and start.

If it succeeds, the smart village will be Uganda’s first dedicated IT business center.

The smart village in Cairo Egypt is a business park, which hosts different facilities such as schools, tourist centers, among others. There are 125 foreign companies operating in the Smart village in Cairo, out of 160 firms. The smart village also comes with incentives such as tax breaks.

The privately owned smart village is tailored to the IT industry, featuring the latest network and communications infrastructure.
