The software takes a burst of smaller photos to help choose the best shot, particularly in action scenes. The device takes photos of 5-megapixels ā snapping 10 shots in less than three seconds ā thatās opposed to 8.7-megapixels in regular camera mode, and it helps conserve space and make the most of the deviceās processor. The software includes āBest Shotā, āAction Shotā, and āMotion Focusā settings to help get the right image.
Smart Camera will launch first on the Lumia 925, but the software will come to all of the Lumia family this summer as part of Lumia āAmberā ā a firmware update ā that will install the photo app and other new updates.
