Uber Launches New Greenlight Hub to Support Driver Partners in Kampala

Taxi hailing company Uber Uganda has announced the opening of a new Greenlight Hub to support and strengthen the thousands of driver-partners earning with Uber in Kampala.

The move comes after Uber’s entry in Kampala in June last year which has seen the company create thousands of economic opportunities for drivers in Kampala.

Located at the Kirpal Singh and Sons House on 3rd Street Industrial Area the new Uber Greenlight Hub will help new driver-partners get on the road and serve as a resource where driver-partners can ask questions or seek technical support.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Uber Greenlight Hub coordinator Junior Africa opened the center with the help of Constantine Mwesigye and Lydia Igune driver-partners with the best rating and most number of trips respectively.

The company also recognized and presented shopping vouchers to Edward Benywanira the top rated driver-partner who had achieved a rating of 4.6 and had also completed a significant number of trips in Kampala and Justus Mwebembezi the longest standing driver-partner who has been driving with Uber ever since its launch in Kampala in June 2016.

Uber’s Country Lead in Uganda Aaron Tindiseega confirmed that the new facility will enable Uber support even more partners and lower the amount of time drivers wait to see an Uber representative.

“I want to thank the members of our driver-partner support team also here who work hard to provide excellent support to each and every driver-partner.” he said.

Also present at the ceremony was Uber’s General Manager for East Africa, Loic Amado who was excited about the new Greenlight Hub.

“The new Greenlight Hub is all about providing efficient & world class support that will help driver-partners get the most out of their time on the road because we know that every moment matters for them,” added Amado.

The new Greenlight Hub will be open Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm and will serve as a quick and convenient resource for partners across Kampala – where they can seek technical support to drive or ask questions about the app.[related-posts]
