With the new School year winding down its first week of the first term, paying school fees just got easier. MTN Mobile Money (MoMo) launched its 2025 School Fees Campaign this week, offering a significant boost to families.
Twenty-five lucky students will receive full-year scholarships, paid directly through MTN MoMo. This initiative builds on the success of the 2024 campaign, which saw over 900,000 parents embrace mobile payments for school fees.
The campaign underscores MTN MoMo’s commitment to improving financial access and driving digital inclusion within Uganda’s education sector.

The first handover events for this year’s scholarship winners kicked off on Sunday, and a key event will took place on Monday, at Midland High School Kawempe.
One of the first winners; Scovia Muhonjerwa, whose son, Shema Samuel, is a Senior 3 student at Midland High School Kawempe, won his entire year’s school fees paid by MTN MoMo.
MTN MoMo will continue hosting regional handover events throughout February and March, celebrating the 25 winners and highlighting the positive impact of digital payments on education in Uganda.
Last year’s campaign showcased inspiring stories of how MTN MoMo empowered families across Uganda. One memorable example is Neema Yarami, a mother and farmer in a refugee settlement in Arua District, who won school fees for her daughter.
