Safari Buddy is joining the ride-sharing business in Uganda, to connect riders with local drivers, providing safe and convenient transportation.

“We’re excited to bring Safari Buddy to Uganda and contribute to the growth of the local economy. We believe that our commitment to safety and community involvement sets us apart and we can’t wait for our users to experience exactly that,” Davilia Nasra, Safari Buddy Chief Executive Officer said in a press statement. She adds “We have partnered with local organizations to provide employment opportunities for drivers and donate a portion of profits to charitable causes.”

In a bid to ensure the safety of its riders and drivers, the Safari Buddy app which is available for both Android and iOS users contains unique features such as in-app emergency assistance and real-time tracking. The service will allow riders to pay with cash or mobile money. According to Nasra, Safari Buddy — a commitment to community involvement draws a line between the app and its other rideshare counterparts.

Safari Buddy won’t just be for urban rides. Nasra confirmed that the riders will be able to book rides for upcountry trips, boat cruises, and sending cargo packages. In addition, Safari Buddy also allows people to put their cars on hire.

For the first six months, drivers will enjoy trips at no transaction fees, giving them the opportunity to earn more money on their own terms. Additionally, drivers have the ability to put out trips at their own prices, giving them even more control over their earnings.

With its combination of convenience, flexibility, and innovation, Safari Buddy is poised to become the go-to rideshare app for Ugandans.
