The Medical Concierge Group to Showcase at the Africa Early Stage Investor Summit

The Medical Concierge Group (TMCG) and its Rocket Health service have been selected from a pool of over 1,000 startups for the 2020 VC4A Venture to Showcase in front of investors at the forthcoming Africa Early Stage Investor Summit from 3rd to 4th November, 2020 with the aim of raising USD$1 million in Seed capital.

TMCG is among the 9 companies in the 2020 VC4A Venture Showcase having demonstrated strong market potential and competitive edge, are well-positioned for regional and international expansion and are working on important innovations in the healthcare, finance, transport, commerce and advertising sectors. They were vetted by VC investors through a rigorous referral and selection process.

The 8 other companies include; Akiba Digital (South Africa), Foodlocker Limited (Nigeria), GoBEBA Everything Limited (Kenya), Interact (Egypt), LetMeIn.to (South Africa), TIBU Health (Kenya), Utiva (Nigeria), Hypernova Space Technologies (South Africa).

The founders will showcase their businesses online in front of investors during the summit with the aim of raising seed capital between USD$150,000 – USD$1 miilion. Notably, TMCG and all the other companies provide technology-intensive or innovation-based products or services that are currently available in one or more African markets.

The Medical Concierge Group (TMCG), through its consumer brand name, Rocket Health, delivers telemedicine and last mile health services in East Africa. This is initiated with chat, voice, video call consultation with Rocket Health medical doctors who are available 24/7. Therefore patients use their mobile phones to be access a healthcare professional at their own convenience without physically being the medical center. The doctors are available to provide you the information you need around prevention or curative care. In addition, you can receive medication at your door-step when needed. The same goes to if you want you lab tests done — your test will be done at your places of convenience.

Over the next weeks, the selected startups will participate in a virtual residency program, including pitch training and interacting & learning from mentors, peers, and partners. They will also be linked to top VC investors. The program entails:

  • 3-minute pitches at the virtual Africa Early Stage Investor Summit 2020 #AESIS2020.
  • The pitches will become available to the investor community.
  • 30-minute one-on-one deep-dive sessions with investors.
  • AWS Activate offers the selected cohort AWS credits worth USD$10,000 (roughly UGX37.4 million), as well as tools, resources, and more to get started quickly on AWS.
  • The startups join the VC4A alumni network and gain exclusive access to fundraising opportunities.

 The Showcase objective is to promote an increasing number of high-quality Seed investment opportunities on the continent. This is why they share the list of top companies based on the investor committee ratings with their wider investor network.
