State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization, Hon. Anite Evelyn on Thursday officially launched Infinix’s NOTE 40 series in Uganda. The series comes in three variants the NOTE 40, the NOTE 40 Pro, and the NOTE 40 Pro+ (5G) and all have wired fast charging and are compatible with the company’s new magnetic wireless charging system.

“I’m excited to see Infinix penetrating our market, you have done a great job,” said Anite — while she called upon Ugandans to start buying Infinix smartphones.

Barnett Fan, Brand Manager at Infinix said the company aims to give users a fast service to enable them to keep up with their lifestyle by improving technology. “In today’s fast-paced world, where every second counts, consumers demand technology that keeps up with their lifestyle, the Infinix NOTE 40 series offers an unparalleled combination of performance, style, and affordability,” he told the press.

The phones are headlined by their charging capability in addition to the 108MP cameras, huge onboard storage, MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset that will boost the performance, and Corning Gorilla Glass. Notably, the phones have a dedicated Cheetah X1 chip, handling charging processes. The chip delivers what Infinix brands All-Round FastCharge 2.0, which reportedly can reach 260W wired and 110W wireless charging, but the announcement revealed that the X1 will support only 100W rates in the current devices.

According to the company, the Infinix Cheetah X1 chip optimizes the charging rates to protect the battery’s health. There’s real-time monitoring, ensuring a balance between speed and temperature, extending the life of the battery. The platform also provides charging scenarios for wired, wireless, reverse wired, and reverse wireless charging, including battery handling during the night or in extreme temperatures.

Magnetic charging will support other devices and aims to establish a cohesive ecosystem of accessories for easier and faster wireless charging.

Compared to its predecessor, the Infinix Note 40 series comes with a few changes that promise to redefine performance, charging capabilities, and display technology.

The Infinix Note 40 series are quite similar in one way or the other. All the models come with a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2436 pexels protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. In addition, have a refresh rate of 120Hz. The key difference for all is that the display is flat.

The three phones are Dual SIM (Nano-SIM), have the same dimensions, weigh the same; 190g, and are IP54, dust and splash resistant.

Under the hood, they come with an Octa-core processor, Android 14 operating system (with XOS 14), and unlike the NOTE 40 which comes with the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset, the Pro and the Pro+ 5G come with MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chipset. The NOTE 40 and Pro come with 8GB RAM while the Pro+ 5G comes with 12GB — while the onboard storage is the same for all, 256GB that can be expanded with a microSD card. The RAM as well can be expanded virtually thanks to the Memory Fusion technology.

The cameras are the same for all — a trio setup at the back; 108MP + 2MP + 2MP and a front camera of 32MP. The rear camera can shoot videos up to 1440p at 30fps while the front camera can go up to 1080p at 30fps.

The NOTE 40 and 40 Pro come with 5,000mAh battery while the Pro+ 5G’s is small at 4.600mAh. As we mentioned before they all support wired, wireless, reverse wireless, and reverse wired charging.
