UBUNTU Towers Officially Rebrands to TowerCo of Africa Uganda
The management team at TowerCo of Africa Uganda are poised to drive the future of sustainable passive telecoms infrastructure and position Uganda as a trailblazer in the digital age.
Today, Ubuntu Towers Uganda announced the successful completion of its rebranding to TowerCo of Africa Uganda, marking a significant milestone in its journey toward revolutionizing connectivity in Uganda. TowerCo of Africa Uganda is now 90% owned by TowerCo of Africa (TOA), a fully owned subsidiary of AXIAN Telecom.
Geoffrey Donnels Oketayot, the CEO of TowerCo of Africa Uganda, expressed excitement about the rebranding, stating that it represents a transfer of a positive legacy from Ubuntu Towers to the TowerCo of Africa brand. The company aims to become the leading green passive infrastructure solutions provider in Uganda.
The celebratory event was attended by several dignitaries including Uganda’s State Minister of ICT, Honourable Joyce Juliet Nabbosa Ssebugwawo, Uganda Communications Commission Ag. Executive Director Eng. Irene Kaggwa Sewankambo and more reflected on TowerCo of Africa Uganda’s market impact since its establishment in 2020.
Oketayot emphasized their gratitude for the support received from employees, customers, business partners, industry bodies, and the government, which has contributed to shaping the socio-economic impact of TowerCo of Africa Uganda. The company remains committed to delivering top-notch telecommunications solutions that drive growth in communities, businesses, and the economy.
Focusing on sustainable and responsible development, TowerCo of Africa Uganda has already deployed towers across approximately 360 sites, with almost all of them equipped with hybrid energy solutions. The company expects significant growth in the number of towers in the years to come.
Stephane Beuvelet, CEO of TowerCo of Africa, highlighted that the company’s infrastructure investments have had a positive impact on various sectors such as education, e-health, e-farming, logistics, and transport.
