Internet is a key thing in our lives today, and the United Nations says the internet is embedded in our lives, acting as the main way for information exchange, that to deny access to everyone in the world is a breach of human rights.
Internet comes with a price, and you only purchase what you can afford. The best deal is getting a package with a big data size and fast data speeds. But the price still remains key, as you find many of such packages [with big data size and fast speeds] are expensive. However, telecom operators, and ISPs try their best to give their customers affordable bundles with good speeds and data size.
In mention, Smile communications is always innovating new bundles that can fit their customers. Last year the ISP introduced a range of unlimited internet tailored based on how long a customer stays online, internet speeds, and flexibility, to mention a few. On Thursday [yesterday], the ISP introduced another set of bundles dubbed, ‘DataKing’ bundles.
“DataKing from Smile is another first in Uganda and the loudest roar in the broadband internet jungle. We’re passionate about our customers’ needs and want to make it easy and more affordable for them to stay online as long as they need,” Jayanta Dutta, Head of Marketing at Smile Communication Uganda, said in a press statement. Adding that, “With DataKing, we keep our customers connected at SuperFast internet data speed, even when the data included is all used up. We are committed to bringing offers to market, giving our customers the best-value SuperFast internet and more reasons to smile.”
The roaring new DataKing bundle is priced UGX222,000 for 115GB data size valid for 30 days, and Smile communication claims the bundle has data speed of up to 21Mbps. If the data is used before its expiry date, the customer gets 1GB data free every day until the DataKing bundle expires.
With this bundle Smile says, customers will be able to stream online entertainment, watch video content, game online without interruptions, no lagging or buffering, just uninterrupted winning.
Compared to telecom operators, MTN, Airtel and Africel, the DataKing bundles beats the odds. With Africel at a price of UGX200,000 you get 120GB, MTN at UGX550,000 you get 170GB, and with Airtel, UGX150,000 gets you 65GB, all valid for a month. Note, the monthly packages mentioned are the biggest monthly volumes to match the 115GB DataKing bundles.
