MTN Joins Ker Alur Kingdom to Celebrate Ubimo’s 10th Coronation Anniversary

MTN Uganda sends warm wishes to Ker Alur Kingdom as they celebrate the Tenth coronation anniversary of HRM Ubimo Phillip Olarker Rauni III.

On Monday this week PC Tech Magazine reported telecommunication operator, MTN Uganda offered UGX20 million to the Ker Alur for the preparation to celebrate the tenth coronation anniversary of His Majesty, the Ubimu of Alur, Phillip Olarker Rauni III.

Today when the coronation was held, MTN Uganda joined the Ker Alur Kingdom in celebrating and congratulating the Ubimo of Ker Alur, His Royal Majesty, Phillip Olarker Rauni III upon his tremendous decade of leadership.

Given the prevailing Covid19 pandemic, the Ubimo celebrated his tenth coronation anniversary scientifically under the theme “Live healthy and always wear a mask correctly” to control the spread of the virus.

During the coronation event, MTN Uganda’s Regional Business Manager, Mr. James Ndyamuhaki who represented the telco’s CEO Mr. Wim Vanhelleputte, reiterated the importance of MTN working with the Ker Alur Kingdom — congratulating His Highness, Rauni III upon his great milestone.

“On behalf of MTN Uganda, I congratulate the Ubimo of Ker Alur upon this tremendous milestone. I applaud him for his insightful and wise leadership that he has offered the people of Ker Alur over the years. I offer good wishes to the people of Ker Alur,” Ndyamuhaki said.

Ndyamuhaki emphasizing on the CEO’s message says that MTN is focused on actively demonstrating what can be achieved if the company works together to enable a shared value system. “We firmly believe that we are good together, because MTN only succeeds if the communities in which we operate succeed”, he said in his conclusion.

Ker Alur Kingdom is the fourth Cultural Institution MTN Uganda has entered a two-year partnership with. The other three Cultural Institutions include; Tooro, Bunyoro, and Busoga. and Ker Kwaro (Acholi). The partnerships seek to uplift the socio-cultural wellbeing of the subjects of the respective kingdoms.

The partnerships are also based on the premise that Cultural Institutions play a central role in fostering shared beliefs and a unity of purpose as well as facilitating their subject’s social wellbeing through community programs.
