The President of Sierra Leone; H.E Julius Maasa Bio has arrived in Uganda prior to the second annual Africa Blockchain Conference he will be attending hosted by the Pres. Museveni.
The conference is slated to happen from July 3rd to July 4th at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
H.E Julius Maasa Bio arrived in Uganda on Monday and he was officially received by the Pres. Museveni at the State House in Entebbe. A 45 second video of him welcoming his fellow President was posted on his Twitter account.
In a separate tweet, Pres. Museveni, wrote; “I am happy to receive and welcome H.E. Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone. I am certain his visit will strengthen the warm and cordial relations existing between our countries.”
Pres. Museveni will officiate the conference that will see, experts, panelists, industry leaders — discuss, and exchange ideas on a range of topics including; Africa’s readiness for the 4th Industrial Revolution, Fintech, Emerging Technologies, EdTech, SDGs & Technology for impact.
On the sidelines of the Africa Blockchain Conference, will run the Africa 4.0 Tech Expo — an experiential journey showcasing the leading technology, innovations and applications in Africa.
Among the technology companies that will participate in the expo include; MTN, Ubuntu group, Yo Uganda, KLF Coin, Kwiksy, Century Group, Huobi, among others.
Sophia the world’s first robot citizen of Saudi Arabia will be at the expo as well. Being perfect for this conference, Sophia is an artificially intelligent (AI) human-like robot developed by Hong Kong-based humanoid robotics company Hanson Robotics.
During the expo, visitors will experience — IoT functioning within a smart home, 5G connectivity, the impact of AI, drones & robotics capabilities, how AR and VR are changing healthcare, autonomous vehicles, to mention a few.
At the same conference, innovators shall be awarded for developing sustainable digital solutions leveraging technologies in Blockchain, Big Data Analytics, AI, Robotics & Drones — to solve pressing challenges across their communities.
