Twitter, in an announcement, revealed that users can now force their Twitter feed to display tweets in chronological order within the Android app with the latest update. Last month, Twitter introduced this feature to its iOS users.
Currently, Twitter displays top Tweets before the most recent ones, something which bothers a lot of users as they like to stay up to date with the most recent updates or real-time updates and the algorithm deters this by burying the latest posts below the top tweets.
The updated Twitter app now features a star icon on the top right. Pressing it brings up the option to switch between the latest and top tweets.
Android, we got you. Starting today, tap ✨ to switch between latest and top Tweets. pic.twitter.com/7rXo3BNEJ6

The announcement did not mention when Twitter plans to bring the Sparkle button to desktop users, but based on the fact that it took roughly one month for Android users to get the feature, we can expect it soon.
