Infinix Hot 6 Pro Unboxing and First Impression: Classy and Elegant

Transsion Holdings-owned Infinix Mobile officially launched the successor to last year’s Infinix Hot 5; the Hot 6 Pro early last month to the Ugandan Market coming in with a pile of new features and specs featuring a designed rear dual camera setting, an 18:9 Full HD Infinity display screen ratio, and a 4,000mAh battery to mention a few. Bet with those being the main key specs. Okay! we might say that the dual camera isn’t a thing no more, because we have seen likes of the Infinix Zero 5 spoting the same feature. But hey! a dual camera is key spec this time around considering the fact most new smartphones launched come with the spec.

Notably, Infiinix Mobility didn’t have a Hot 5 Pro, and did have a Hot 5 Lite. Therefore, we might say that the Hot 6 and Hot 6 Pro are successors for the Hot 5 and Hot 5 Lite respectively.

As usual, PC Tech Magazine is given a flagship to review, and we got the Infinix Hot 6 Pro in a Sandstone Black variant. However, it is also available Magic Gold and Bordeaux Red color variants.

On first look, it could be confused for a Tecno Camon CM since the resemblance is almost the same.

Looking at perceptive of the Hot 6 Pro specifications. Most of the rumors that we heard of, were actually true about the flagship. The 6″ 720p HD+ 18:9 Infinity Display smartphone comes coupled with 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD card slot of upto 128GB housing a Quad-core Snapdragon 425, 1.4GHz chipset featuring Android 8.0 topped on with the XOS 3.2 Hummingbird mobile operating system.

Unlike the Hot 6 that comes with a Dual Dirac 3D Stereo speakers, the Hot 6 Pro has a single speaker.

The Infinix Hot 6 Pro packs a dual rear camera setting – 13MP AF + 2MP FF rear camera supported with a dual LED flash for low light settings. While on the other hand, the front facing camera come with a 5MP FF sensor, also supported with a led flash.

In terms of security, asides from the usual pins, patterns, and passwords we have gotten used at, the Infinix Hot 6 Pro comes with a fingerprint sensor placed below the rear camera – fingerprint sensor is now the ‘thing’ in the new era of smartphones. To support the fingerprint sensor is the FaceID unlock feature.

In terms of connectivity, the flagship supports 4G LTE connections, Bluetooth v.4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS, USB v.3.0.

First Impressions

  1. Less bezels gives a full 6″ 720p HD+ 18:9 Infinity Display.
  2. Space for the microSD card considering the fact some flagship don’t have this option. The available space allows one to use either a second sim or a microSD card.
  3. Dual rear camera setting.
