After Agrocenta; a Ghana-based startup which is tackling food access and stock flow issues across Ghana communities, emerged as Seedstars Global Winner in April this year, Seedstars World, the biggest startup competition focused only in emerging markets and fast-growing startup early this month announced its 2018 tour dates to search for capable startups to compete in at their 5th annual Seedstar global summit in Switzerland.
The search will be coming to Kampala, Uganda on August 24th.
Only 10 startups shall be selected and will be invited to pitch in front of an investment panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed stage startup. The crowned startup will represent Kampala, Uganda at the global summit in Switzerland.
At the 4th annual competition, Kampala, Uganda was represented by Digital loan startup; Numida. The two year startup issues unsecured loans to credit-constrained Ugandan entrepreneurs, who use the startup’s app to manage their finances and charges a base rate of between five and 15% on terms of between one and three months, with loan amounts going as high as USD$1,500 (roughly 5,407,500 UGX).
Interested applicants are to send in their submissions not later than August 24th, 2018. Only 10 submission will be selected to pitch infront of Seedstars global selected panel of judges.
