Infinix Hot 4 Review: A Balance between Price and quality

Last month, Infinix launched the Hot4 unto the Ugandan market through a partnership with Kilimall.

PC Tech did a video of the unboxing, and today, we want to present to you a review of the budget phone.

DESIGN

The Hot 4  is made of plastic material, with the back being 3D textured. It has a solid feel in the hands and is heavy compared to phones of similar size.

The weight can partly be attributed to the the 4000mAh battery, inserted in the phone. There is a 3.5mm audio jack at the top, the 8MP camera at the back, next to a fingerprint scanner and an LED flash. There is also a speaker is positioned at the bottom of the back.

The volume and power buttons all all located on the right hand side of the phone. This makes it possible to easily control a number of features using one hand.

There is a front-facing camera to make it easy ti take all the selfies.

DISPLAY

The phone comes with a 5.5-inch 720 x 1280 pixels display. This gives you the ability to watch your all your high definition content. The downside is that visibility during daylight is not very bright. You fill find yourself straining your eyes when outside.

CAMERA

The HOT4 comes with an 8MP back camera and 5MP front camera. Both camera’s have an LED flash, meaning you can take clear pictures no matter the lighting.

The back camera also supports HD Video and auto-focus.

When it comes to taking pictures, there is a Camera app gives you flexibility to choose from different scenes and modes, likes HDR, Normal, Professional, Panorama, night and beauty mode.

The front camera supports only the modes of Beauty, normal and wideSelfie modes.

It comes with an inbuilt feature of screen recording, and the brightness is good, even when set to minimum.

SOFTWARE AND SPECIFICATIONS

The Infinix Hot 4 runs on Infinix XOS on top of android 6.0 marshmallow. It’s powered by Mediatek 6580 quad-core processors with Mali-400MP graphical processing unit. There is 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard memory which can further be extended to 32GB of external storage.

There is little or no lag. The XOS interface is clean and intuitive, especially the control panel which is now very much revamped unlike previous devices from Infinix.

The fingerprint sensor is also an added advantage. This makes it one of the cheapest devices with a finger print sensor.

BATTERY

This is one of the best there is! It is very good and you can go an entire day without need to charge even when you are using it heavily. I was able to go three days on basic internet connection, and calls.

With Instagram, video streaming and some gaming, the phone was still able to take me throughout the entire day.

The Infinix Hot4 is currently selling at only UGX 359,000 at kilimall.co.ug
