Botswana Set To Host The 17th Annual African Internet Summit

The 17th annual African Internet Summit is set to take place in Gaborone, Botswana from 29th May to 10th June, 2016. This summit is part of the African Network Operators Group (AFNOG)  programme and will be locally hosted by the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA).

The Annual African Internet Summit (AIS) is a regional multi-stakeholder ICT conference which brings together Africa’s ICT business and technical community to discuss regional and global ICT issues and challenges. .

African Internet Summit aims at meeting the ever-changing needs of the ICT Industry and also includes the core IP Engineering as well as integrating the real world use and impact of IP Technologies. One of its goals is to contribute to the transformation of Africa through the internet.

Internationally renowned Instructors, Experts and Speakers will grace this event. They will share the latest innovations, Best practices and experiences in the Internet industry.

AFNOG is a forum for cooperation and the exchange of technical information between operators of Internet-connected networks in Africa, aiming at building a community of engineers helping each other operate Internet Infrastructure in Africa, and on the Global Internet as well as promote the discussion of issues relating to implementation of new networks that require community cooperation.

This 13 day event will see a variety of workshops, tutorials and trainings including; Unix Boot Camp, Networking Boot Camp, AfNOG Workshop, AfricaCERT Workshop, AfTLD – AROC, Online Content Localisation Tutorial to name a few.
