Report: Expect desktop notifications for Twitter direct messages

Twitter is reportedly trying to make it easier to know when someone has messaged you; the company is rolling out desktop notifications for direct messages on Twitter.com.

Twitter has been making some strides to turn its direct messaging into a serious messaging platform, most notably with the removal of the 140 character limit for private conversations

TNW reports that the notifications will show up on the top right side of your screen. You click on it, and you’ll be taken to the DM interface.

Twitter users are predominantly mobile-first, so this feature will come in handy for those who tend to stick around their desktops.

You may not be able to receive the notifications on your desktop yet, but surely it is coming your way. Brace yourself.
