Leave Your Charger at Home, Urine Will Power Your Phone

urine chargerUrine has turned out to be more powerful that we think. Scientists were able to successfully generate electricity from human urine, enough to partially power a cell phone.

They found that live bacteria breaking down urine creates electricity in the process. As an electrolyte, the natural pH within urine makes it a viable fuel. Researchers speculate that ‘smart toilets’ could make this experiment practical in just a few years.

At the very least, it’s the one charger that’s impossible to lose or forget when you leave the house.
