Orange introduces email by SMS for the first time in Uganda

Users are able to set their email preferences and choose which senders to/not to receive emailSMS from by setting the options available at http://emailsms.orange.ug

EmailSMS is particularly unique as it does not require an internet-enabled phone.

To subscribe for the service, text emailsms to 141 and follow the instructions to activate your email address.

Yahoo! Mail Users

Yahoo! Mail requires changing of “Zone and language preferences” to anything other than US (United States) in the Yahoo! Mail options, and then enabling POP. This is because by default, POP download is open to users of the premium Yahoo! Mail Plus (not free).
