Vivo has unveiled its latest flagship-level portrait additions to its stylish V series — the V27 (supports 5G) and V27e. The latest V series smartphones are equipped with powerful performance and camera capabilities, making them a complete smartphone for users looking to capture the delight in every portrait of their exciting lives.
The V series comes in three variants, however, only two have been made available. We have not received any comment on whether the third handset, the V27 Pro which also supports 5G — will be made available.
The two phones, the V27 and V27e are available for purchase effective today priced at KSH52,999 and KSH37,999 respectively. The company said the phones are available at major retailers and telecommunications partners.
The phones don’t differ much in specs — they both come with an AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The V27e has a 6.62-inch screen size with is slightly smaller than the V27 comes with a 6.78-inch a similar size to the Pro version. They are all built similarly with a glass front, and plastic frames but what differs is that the V27e has a plastic back while the V27 has a glass back.
Under the hood, this cuts across all three phones, they come with an Octa-core processor, 8GB RAM (which can be virtually expanded up to 8GB), onboard storage of 128GB & 256GB (which can be expanded with a microSD card, however, this is only for the V27e), and Android 13 which is topped by the company’s Funtouch 13 skin.
The V27e comes with a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC while the V27 comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC which offers higher processing speed and a substantial performance boost over the previous generation of MediaTek chips. With the chipsets, this will make seamless switches between apps.
The phones are powered by a non-removable Li-Po 4,600mAh battery and support 66W fast charge allowing users to charge from 1% – 50% in 19 minutes (as advertised).
Looking at the cameras, both phones have a trio camera setting but differ in pexels. The V27e comes with a 64MP (main and wide) + 2MP (marco) + 2MP (depth) sensors while the V27 50MP (main and wide) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) sensors. The cameras can shoot videos up to 4K at 30 frames per second (fps). The cameras come with a Ring-LED flash on the side for low-light settings. As for the front camera, the V27e has a 32MP shoot while the V27 has a 50MP shooter both of which can shoot videos up to 1080p at 30 fps. Unlike the V27e, the V27 comes with a Dual-LED flash.
According to the company, the phones provide natural night portraits thanks to its 64MP (on the V27e) and 50MP (on the V27) OIS Ultra-Sensing rear camera, studio-level soft lighting effect, and portrait-enhancing capabilities.
Featuring a flagship-level Sony IMX766V sensor and exclusive Aura Light and Portrait algorithms working in tandem, they deliver better portraits at night. With Hybrid Image Stabilization (OIS + EIS), they can perform stabilization computations and movements up to 10,000 times per second, giving users smoother, more stable, and clearer footage.
The handset captures and pays tribute to the vibrant colors of nature with a beautiful design flow. The Vivo V27e comes in Glory Black and Lavender Purple options while Vivo V27 comes in Magic Blue and Noble Black options.
