On August 30th, 2025, ten homegrown startups will compete for a single coveted ticket to the global finals in Silicon Valley in the U.S. and a chance to win a life-changing US$1 million (approx. UGX3.6 billion) investment prize.
The Ugandan regional finale, a segment of the Startup World Cup powered by Pegasus Tech Ventures, a notable venture capital firm with ties to industry giants like SpaceX, Airbnb, and OpenAI, is being organized by Benue Capital. The event signifies a major milestone for Uganda’s burgeoning tech ecosystem, offering unprecedented international exposure and validation. With this opportunity, Ugandan startup founders can now show their ideas on a global platform, find new partners, and attract investment to grow their businesses.

Ahead of the pitch day of August 30th, at Hive Colab, Benue Capital has unveiled the ten (10) finalists, selected from a competitive field, who represent a diverse cross-section of solutions addressing critical challenges, from agriculture and healthcare to education and financial inclusion, that will pitch their ventures to a formidable panel of judges comprising some of the most respected names in the African tech and investment landscape: Shamim Nabuuma, Alan Lwetabe, Christine Namara, Diana Njuguna, and Dr. Grace Kamulegeya, for a spot at the Startup World Cup Finals.

- Visual Assistance Initiative:Â An AI-powered assistive kit that helps visually impaired learners navigate, read, and engage independently.
- Omni Gym Africa:Â A corporate wellness platform giving employees access to a network of gyms with just one membership.
- Terraworks AI:Â An AI tool that reads and grades handwritten assignments, unlocking insights to make teachers more productive and provide personalised student support.

The winner of the Ugandan finale will receive a complimentary round-trip ticket to San Francisco courtesy of Turkish Airlines, where they will join regional champions from over 50 countries at the Startup World Cup Grand Finale in Silicon Valley on October 17, 2025. There, they will compete for a US$1 million (approx. UGX 3.6 billion) equity investment and the attention of a global audience of investors.
