Beyond celebrating individual excellence, the AMC and TICON Africa awards hold deep significance for the continent. Each nomination and award reflects Africa’s ability to create homegrown solutions that address local challenges.

The 2025 AMC & TICON Africa Conference concluded with an award gala ceremony at the tranquil Labadi Beach Hotel in Ghana to celebrate outstanding industry professionals in technology and marketing who have boosted both their country’s and Africa’s ICT and marketing industry, making contributions that have progressed the ICT and marketing sectors in Africa and created new opportunities for its people.

The distinguished AMC Award winners were selected from over 60 nominations, while the esteemed TICON Africa Award winners were chosen from an outstanding 82 nominations.

David Gowu, President of TICON Africa, noted that the judges were overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude and quality of the nominations. “We received 82 nominations from across the continent and the judges had a hard time deciding on the final winners,” he says. “However, they are satisfied that they chose the absolute best of the best in top ICT minds from across Africa.”

On the other hand, Helen McIntee-Carlisle, AMC President and Co-Founder, also noted that the judges were impressed by the scale and calibre of the entries. “With nominations from all over the continent, the judges faced a tough task in selecting the final winners,” she says. “We are pleased to have identified the leading marketing stars from throughout the continent,” she concluded.

Award nominations for TICON Africa were received from Ghana, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The AMC nominations were received from Uganda, Zambia, Kenya, and Tanzania.

“I want to extend my warmest congratulations to all the winners, as well as everyone who was nominated. It’s inspiring to see such a dynamic marketing sector across Africa,” said McIntee-Carlisle. Echoing this sentiment, Gowu adds, “My most heartfelt congratulations go out not only to every one of the winners, but also to all those who were in the running. I’m proud that we have such a vibrant ICT sector in Africa.”

Each category had several stringent requirements for nominations to be considered, which included demonstrating excellence in marketing, innovation, and impact across Africa, as well as showcasing how ICT innovation was used to benefit their communities.
