itel Mobile has today launched itel P37 and P37 Pro, the successor of the P36s in Uganda. The phone becomes the first handset the company is launching since the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic in the country. The launch of the phone in the country comes after successful launches in Nigeria and Kenya.
The phone comes with a 6.5-Inch waterdrop display coupled with a screen resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20.5:9. The P37 adopts a super slim and smart design with smooth, rounded edges and narrow bezels to give a huge display. The phone on first impressions is both aesthetically pleasing and comfortable to hold.
The phone runs on Android 10 (Go edition) on top of the company’s OS v7.0 skin interface. It is supported with a 1.4 GHz Octa-core, Cortex-A55 processor, a Spreadtrum UniSoC chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM, and internal storage of 32GB. The internal storage is expandable with a microSD card of up to 64GB.
The title P37 comes with AI dual rear camera setup with 8MP + 0.3MP sensors that can shoot videos in 720p. The company says to use the automatic control tool for consistent clarity in any light setting so as to capture beautiful photographs. On the other hand, the front camera comes with a 5MP sensor. Considering that itel smartphones are entry-level handsets, we don’t expect much on the cameras.
The phone is powered by a removable Lithium-Polymer 5,000mAh supported with an AI Power Master assistant. The charging is standard charging via a micro-USB.
The phone is now available in itel stores in Gradient Purple, Gradient Blue, Dark Blue color variants priced at UGX315,000 and UGX365,000 for the P37 and P37 Pro respectively.
