The itel P33 is the latest in the itel Power series smartphone, with its main highlight being the 4,000mAh non-removable battery. itel claims the battery can last “80 hours on normal usage, 22 hours continual 3G phone call, and 350 hours standby.” Building on the premium legacy of long-lasting battery performance, the P33 embodies a revolutionary battery setup with the industry-leading technologies.

With now the P33 in our availability, we’re are yet to put the theory to test. PC Tech Magazine is to review the phone in the next two weeks. Ms. Lindah Nakityo; Communications Manager, itel mobile Uganda assured us the company is “committed to providing best-in-class smartphones for everyone that offers more value with cutting-edge technology, features, and style but at a very friendly price. Hence the P33.”

Unboxing the itel P33
The flagship comes in a squared box sealed carefully. Consumers are argued not to accepted device if the seal is broken in their absence. On unwrapping the box, the 5.5-Inch P33 appears on top while its accessories including; a charging bricking, microUSB data & charging cable, screen guard, smartphone case, and user guides & manuals appear underneath.

Quick Review
The Dual SIM with a 5.5-Inch HD+ IPS full screen display runs on Android Oreo (GO Edition) to optimize the phones performance. It’s powered by quad core 1.3GHz processor paired with a 1GB RAM and an on-board storage of 16GB. The on-board storage is expandable with a microSD card of up to 32GB. The phone is as well backed on a non-removable 4,000mAh battery claimed to last up-to 80 hours on a single charge.

In terms of image and video optics, the P33 comes with a single front facing 5MP camera. On the other hand, the dual rear camera comes with the primary sensor at 8MP and the secondary at 0.8MP. Both are supported with LED flash for low light photography.

In terms of connectivity, the P33 supports Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB v2.0, 3.5mm earphone jack, Wi-Fi, and GPS.

Additionally, itel P33 comes with face unlock and fingerprint sensor to secure your privacy. Unlike the P32, the P33 fingerprint quick access functions have been upgraded from 5 functions to 8.

First Impressions

  1. The 4,000mAh battery. With the 80 hours battery life on a single charge guaranteed, consumers have less worries of being locked out. While this won’t be surprising, itel mobiles are known of having better battery performance.
  2. The dual rear camera. The fact that smartphone markers are slowly phasing a way single rear cameras, the dual rear setup on the P33 should be applaud. Even with its secondary sensor being less than megapixel, i.e. 0.8MP and its primary at 8MP.
  3. The on-board storage. While most of the itel entry-level phones come with 8GB ROM, the 16GB change is worth the first impression. The storage can further be expanded with a microSD card of up-to 32GB.
  4. Android GO Edition. Itel mobiles come with 1GB RAM which we have to say does play a role in slowing the phone’s performance, if consider the consumer is a multi-tasker. However, if coupled with Android Oreo (GO Edition), the mobile OS tries to optimize the phones performance.
