Stanbic Bank Uganda in March launched their cashless campaign dubbed; Blue Weekends that allows its customers pay, as well as receive discounts through their Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals. The official launch event that was held at Monot hangout bar in Bugolobi, Kampala graced by some of Uganda finest musicians that entertained the crowd.
The campaign runs every last weekend of each month throughout the year at selected outlets.
In March, Monot Bar, Piato restaurant, Le Chateau restaurant, and Karveli restaurant were the selected designated places for the campaign. This month around, between Thursday April 26th to Sunday April 29th Game Stores, Gabz Lounge, Le chateau, Piato, Master Supermaket, and Karvelli are the selected outlets as unveiled by the bank. Customers can swipe their visa cards through Stanbic Bank’s Point of Sale terminals to claim the discounts.
“Our goal with this campaign is to promote a cashless economy; something we believe can be achieved through the increased usage of Visa cards already in our customer’s possession,” Stanbic Bank’s Head of Marketing, Daniel Ogong said in a press statement.
