Prof. Maggie Kigozi and Ashish J. Thakkar to Headline the Young Entrepreneurship Day at Africa 2017

Crown Bottlers Uganda; Marketing Director and board member of Uganda Manufacturers Association; Prof. Maggie Kigozi together with Ashish J. Thakkar; Founder of Mara Group and Mara Foundation will be headlining the Young Entrepreneurship Day (YED) at the Africa 2017 Forum next month in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt from December 7th to 9th.

The forum is organised by the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation of Egypt and the COMESA Regional Investment Agency (RIA), and will bring together Heads of State and delegates from across the global – including; H.E the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame, H.E. Sherif Ismail; Prime Minister, Arab Republic of Egypt, H.E. Sindiso Ngwenya; Secretary General, COMESA, Kristalina Georgieva CEO, World Bank to mention a few.

The YED is a new addition to the forum that has been designed to connect some of Africa’s most promising entrepreneurs and give them exposure to investors, incubators and accelerators. In addition also take part in workshops that will give them the skills and tools to scale up their businesses.

Both Maggie and Thakkar have been championing entrepreneurship and will share their perspectives, as well as engage in an open platform with some of the upcoming leaders from across Africa.

As part of the Forum, Egypt (the hosts) will be showcasing its flagship mega-projects including the construction of a new capital city 45km outside of Cairo, and a number of industrial and special economic zone projects along the Suez Canal, among others.

This Forum reinforces Egypt’s commitment to support and enhance the economic and cultural integration of Africa and to spur investment into what is still one of the fastest growing regions in the world.
