Telecom firm; Vodafone Uganda with its bid of supporting Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Uganda on Friday last week Anthony Tenywa; Research and Insights Manager together with Hurry Mugisha Head of SME at Vodafone Uganda made a courtesy call during the Top 100 mid-sized company weekly visits to Nina Interiors LTD; an enterprises that generalizes in home and office furniture and decorations.
“We aim to enable SMEs to work faster and smarter by identifying their internet needs and develop solutions that directly meet these needs”, said Anthony Tenywa; Research and Insights Manager at Vodafone Uganda.
SMEs contribute up to 70% of Uganda’s GDP, and are therefore an important engine for growth of the economy. The continuous growth in technology is an indicator that businesses need to evolve with it if they are to benefit from these changes. Integration of ICT in business will improve productivity and efficiency of businesses.
“Vodafone is taking deliberate steps to bridge the digital gap and SMEs, so that they can leverage the benefits of ICT integration in businesses” stated Hurry Mugisha; Head of SME at Vodafone Uganda.
Notably, the Top 100 mid-sized companies’ survey is an initiative of KPMG and the Nation Media Group represented by Daily Monitor in Uganda that has been conducted since 2009 in Uganda as well as in Kenya and Tanzania with the purpose of identifying Uganda’s fastest growing medium sized companies in order to showcase business excellence and highlight some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurship stories.
